W. & J. Jamieson Ltd
The Jamieson name has a long history in the New Zealand building industry, beginning with Samuel Jamieson who arrived in New Zealand in the mid 1800’s. Samuel formed the company J & W Jamieson Ltd in 1860 with two of his sons William and James and the company progressed into one of New Zealand’s largest construction companies, responsible for many of the country’s landmark buildings and structures, most prominently in Canterbury.
The company has its own workshop based in Loburn where we have the ability to store containers and materials, as well as cut out our own framing and joinery if required. To have this capability in Canterbury is very useful, particularly in the current environment.
The company has always done a variety of work. There have been some interesting and challenging contracts from new light commercial buildings and architectural homes, through to large remodelling contracts and building relocations. The company has also carried out many large scale renovations to older homes.
We take a green approach to our own work, recycling & re-using where possible, and we have held forestry interests for 25 years.
