Congratulations Barbara MacGregor!

New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) President Auckland and NZCB member and Owner-Operator MyHome Renovations, Barbara MacGregor won the Highly Commended award in the ‘Excellence in Construction Administration – Office Based’ category of the NAWIC Excellence Awards 2023, held in Christchurch on Friday 21 July.

Being a small business owner-operator with MyHome Renovations, Barbara has a wealth of knowledge in contract administration and supporting construction staff. Barbara enjoys sharing this knowledge with other people in the industry to see them succeed.

She was the first woman to become President of the Auckland branch of New Zealand Certified Builders. Her referee told us, she is not afraid to use her platform as president to seek improvements for all workers in the industry.

Barbara is passionate about women in building and trade businesses and wants to see these women step forward from ‘behind the scenes’ and be acknowledged for the hard work they do.

“With so many large construction companies dominating the room, I was thrilled to accept the award from NAWIC.  It really did feel like I was representing ‘small business’ and all those women who work hard behind the scenes supporting their partners with the all-important administration tasks for their building businesses.  I’m also very grateful to Malcolm Fleming for making me aware of NAWIC and their awards – perhaps we can get a bunch of NZCB wives and partners involved in the future!” Says Barbara.
