In the News: Is the grass really greener in Australia?

A new report out suggests that construction workers leaving New Zealand for better opportunities in Australia may not get the financial boost they were hoping for.

Waihanga Ara Rau | Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council commissioned the research, which found shrinking income disparities, higher taxes, and soaring house prices are making Australia a less attractive destination for many Kiwi workers.

Malcolm spoke with 1 News about the findings, commenting that many workers are travelling to Australia based on outdated information they’ve received from older family and friends, and that the pipeline of major infrastructure work is looking positive.
